Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable conference table.

  1. Connect to network: Use Ethernet cable to connect to PoE switch or injector.
  2. Connect expansion microphones: Plug CP-MIC-8861 into MIC IN port, chain additional mics if needed.
  3. Power on: Phone will boot via PoE or optional AC adapter.
  4. Position phone: Center in room for optimal microphone pickup.

First-Time Setup

Phone boots and attempts to connect to network.

  1. Network configuration: Obtain IP via DHCP or enter static settings via touchscreen menu.
  2. Phone registration: Enter provisioning server details (TFTP, HTTP) or register directly to CUCM.
  3. Set language: In Settings > User Preferences, select language (default ENGLISH).
  4. Adjust audio settings: Use Audio Settings to calibrate microphone sensitivity and speaker volume.
  5. Test call: Place a test call to verify audio quality and connectivity.

  3. Daisy-chain expansion mics: Connect first mic to MIC IN, subsequent mics to previous mic's OUT port.
  4. For headset, plug into 3.5mm jack; select "Headset" mode in audio settings.

Tip: Use shielded cables for microphone extensions to reduce interference.

Conference Call Operations

Supports standard and ad-hoc conference calls.

  1. Place call: Dial number using on-screen keypad or select from directory.
  2. Answer call: Tap Answer or press speaker button on incoming call.
  3. Mute: Tap Mute button; red LED indicates active mute.
  4. Volume adjustment: Use volume rocker during call.
  5. Hold: Tap Hold to place call on hold.
  6. Transfer: Tap Transfer, enter target number, tap Transfer again.
  7. Conference: During active call, tap Conference, dial second party, tap Conference again to merge.
  8. End call: Tap End Call or press speaker button.

WARNING! Avoid placing phone near loud noise sources (HVAC, projectors) for optimal audio.
