Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place phone on stable surface near network outlet.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug Ethernet cable from switch into phone's SW port.
  2. Connect PC (Optional): Plug PC Ethernet cable into phone's PC port.
  3. Connect Handset: Insert coiled handset cord into jack on back of phone.
  4. Apply Power: Use PoE from switch or connect optional power adapter.

WARNING! Use only approved power adapter. Ensure cables are securely connected.

First-Time Setup

Phone boots and registers with Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

  1. Initial Boot: Phone obtains IP address via DHCP and downloads configuration.
  2. Verify Registration: Check for extension number on display.
  3. Set User Preferences: Use Settings menu to configure ring tone, contrast, etc.
  4. Test Call: Place a test call to verify audio quality and connectivity.

CAUTION! Do not unplug during firmware download. Allow process to complete.

Access menus via Navigation button. Front Panel: Handset, Speakerphone, Volume rockers, Message Waiting LED, Navigation button, Programmable buttons.

Connecting to Network

Primary connection via Ethernet SW port. Optional PC pass-through via PC port.

  1. Ensure network switch supports PoE (802.3af) or have power adapter ready.
  2. Use standard CAT5e or higher Ethernet cable.
  3. Connect cable from network jack to phone's SW port.
  4. For PC, connect cable from phone's PC port to computer's Ethernet port.

Tip: Verify link LED is solid green on Ethernet port after connection.

Basic Operations

Making and receiving calls, hold, transfer, conference.

  1. Make Call: Lift handset or press Speakerphone, dial number, press Dial softkey or wait.
  2. Answer Call: Lift handset, press Speakerphone, or press Answer softkey.
  3. End Call: Hang up handset or press EndCall softkey.
  4. Hold: Press Hold softkey during active call.
  5. Transfer: During call, press Transfer, dial target number, press Transfer again.
  6. Conference: During call, press Conference, dial second party, press Conference again.
  7. Redial: Press Redial or select from call history.
  8. Adjust Volume: Use Volume rocker during call (handset/speaker) or idle (ringer).

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on buttons or handset cradle.

Advanced Features

Speed Dials: Assign numbers to programmable buttons via web interface or CUCM. Call History: View missed, received, and placed calls via Navigation button. Headset Mode: Enable in Settings for hands-free operation with headset. Do Not Disturb (DND): Activate to silence ringer and send calls to voicemail.

Care & Maintenance

Unplug power before cleaning. Use slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquids or aerosols directly on phone.

CAUTION! Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity. Keep vents clear of obstructions.
