Installation and Setup

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure you have a working network with PoE or an external power adapter.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug an Ethernet cable from your network switch/router into the SW port on the phone.
  2. Connect a PC (Optional): Plug an Ethernet cable from the PC port on the phone to your computer.
  3. Apply Power: If using PoE, the phone will power on automatically. If not, connect the external power adapter to the DC 48V port.
  4. Connect Handset: Plug the handset cord into the dedicated jack.
  5. Power On: The phone will boot, obtain an IP address via DHCP, and register with the call control system (e.g., Cisco Unified Communications Manager Express).

WARNING! Use only the approved power adapter. Ensure network cables are securely connected.

Basic Operation

Making and Receiving Calls:

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press Speaker button. Dial number using the keypad.
  2. Answer a Call: Lift handset, press Speaker button, or press the flashing line button.
  3. End a Call: Hang up handset or press Speaker button again.
  4. Place Call on Hold: Press the Hold button. Press Hold again or resume by lifting handset/pressing Speaker.
  5. Adjust Volume: Press the Volume button during a call to adjust handset/speaker volume. Press it while phone is idle to adjust ringer volume.
  6. Access Voice Mail: Press the Messages button and follow prompts.

Tip: The LCD will show the current date/time, extension, and call status.
