Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface.

  1. Connect to network: Plug Ethernet cable from switch into the NETWORK port on the phone.
  2. Connect PC (optional): Plug PC Ethernet cable into the PC port on the phone.
  3. Connect handset: Insert handset cord into the HANDSET port.
  4. Power the phone: Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) or connect the optional power adapter to the DC IN port.

WARNING! Use only approved power adapter. Ensure cables are securely connected.

First-Time Setup

Phone will boot and register with Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

  1. Check network registration: Wait for the phone to display your extension number.
  2. Set user preferences: Press the Settings button to configure ringtone, screen contrast, etc.
  3. Configure voice mail: Follow prompts or contact administrator to set up voice mail.
  4. Test the phone: Lift handset and listen for dial tone; make a test call.

Making and Receiving Calls

Basic call functions.

  1. Make a call: Lift handset or press Speakerphone, dial number, press Dial softkey or wait.
  2. Answer a call: Lift handset, press Speakerphone, or press Answer softkey.
  3. End a call: Hang up handset or press EndCall softkey.
  4. Hold: Press Hold button during a call.
  5. Transfer: During a call, press Transfer, dial target number, press Transfer again.
  6. Conference: During a call, press Conference, dial second party, press Conference again to merge.
  7. Redial: Press Redial or the Redial softkey to call last dialed number.

WARNING! Emergency calls (e.g., 911) may require configuration; confirm with administrator.

Accessibility Features

Visual Alert: Flashing LED for incoming call (if configured). Audio Adjustments: Independent volume control for ringer, handset, speaker, headset. Headset Mode: Press Headset button to activate headset for all calls.
