Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure host phone is compatible and powered off.

  1. Position module: Place near host phone on stable surface.
  2. Connect cable: Plug cable into expansion port on back of host phone.

  4. Power on host phone: The module will initialize automatically.

First-Time Setup

Controls and Indicators

Module has no physical buttons for dialing. All keys are programmable via Call Manager.

LED Indicators: Green steady = line active; Green flashing = incoming call; Red steady = line in use or hold; Red flashing = ringing or alert.

LCD Display: Shows directory number (DN) or custom label for each key. Configuration: Done entirely through Cisco Call Manager Administration. Key functions can be set as: Line appearance, Speed dial, Call forward, Park, Pickup, or other feature shortcuts.

Connecting to Host Phone

Only compatible with specific Cisco IP Phone models with expansion module port.

  1. Power off host phone before connecting module.
  2. Locate expansion port on back of host phone (labeled "Expansion Module").
  3. Connect included cable securely to both devices.
  4. Power on host phone; wait for initialization (all module LEDs will flash once).

Tip: If module is not detected, check cable connection and restart host phone.

Configuring Line Keys

Keys are configured through Cisco Call Manager, not on the device itself.

  1. Log into Cisco Call Manager Administration.
  2. Navigate to Device > Phone and select the host phone.
  3. Scroll to "Module 1" or appropriate expansion module section.
  4. For each key (1-14), select function: Line, Speed Dial, or Feature.
  5. For Line: Assign directory number and calling search space.
  6. For Speed Dial: Enter label and phone number.
  7. For Feature: Select from available feature buttons (e.g., Call Park, Pickup).
  8. Save configuration and reset phone for changes to take effect.

Using Features

  2. Place call: Press line key to get dial tone, then dial number.
