Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface near network outlet.

  1. Connect to network: Plug Ethernet cable from switch into SW port on phone.
  2. Connect PC (optional): Plug cable from PC into PC port on phone.
  3. Connect handset: Plug coiled handset cord into handset jack.
  4. Apply power: Use Power over Ethernet (preferred) or connect external power adapter.

WARNING! Use only approved power sources. Ensure network cables are securely connected.

First-Time Setup

Power on phone; follow on-screen prompts.

  1. Network configuration: Phone obtains IP via DHCP by default. Check settings via Settings > Network Configuration.
  2. Phone registration: Enter Call Manager server IP if required. Phone should register automatically with configured server.
  3. Set preferences: Use Settings button to adjust ring type, display contrast, time/date.
  4. Test basic functions: Place test call to verify audio and network connectivity.

CAUTION! Do not disconnect during firmware upgrade. Allow phone to complete boot process.

Connecting to Network

  2. Use Category 5 or higher Ethernet cables.
  3. Verify link LED is solid green on Ethernet port.

Tip: For PoE, confirm switch provides 48V DC. Use inline power injector if switch does not support PoE.

Basic Call Handling

Supports standard telephony functions.

  1. Place call: Lift handset or press Speakerphone, dial number, press Dial softkey or wait for auto-dial.
  2. Answer call: Lift handset, press Speakerphone, or press Answer softkey.
  3. End call: Hang up handset or press EndCall softkey.
  4. Hold: Press Hold button or Hold softkey during active call.
  5. Transfer: Press Transfer, dial target number, announce call, press Transfer again.
  6. Conference: Press Conference, dial participant, press Conference again to merge.
  7. Voicemail: Press Messages button or dial voicemail access number.

WARNING! Emergency calls may require direct dialing; confirm local emergency service access.

Advanced Features

Speed Dials: Program via Settings > User Preferences. Call Forward: Activate via softkey or settings menu. XML Services: Access directories, weather, or custom applications via XML. Headset Mode: Press Headset button to toggle headset use.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug power before cleaning. Use slightly damp cloth for exterior; dry thoroughly. Do not use liquids or aerosols on display or buttons.
