Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Choose a stable, well-ventilated location.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug Ethernet cable from switch into the SW port on the phone.
  2. Connect PC (Optional): Plug Ethernet cable from PC into the PC port on the phone.
  3. Connect Handset: Plug the handset cord into the handset port.
  4. Connect Headset (Optional): Plug headset into the headset port.
  5. Apply Power: Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) or connect the optional power adapter.

WARNING! Use only approved power sources. Ensure cables are not pinched or damaged.

First-Time Setup

Phone will boot and attempt to register with the call control system.

  1. Network Registration: Ensure phone obtains an IP address via DHCP.
  2. Configure Extension: Administrator typically assigns extension via Unified CM.
  3. Set User Preferences: Press Settings button to set language, time format, ring tone.
  4. Verify Registration: Check for registered line status on the display.

  3. Phone will auto-negotiate speed/duplex with switch.
  4. Verify link and activity LEDs are lit.

Tip: For best performance, ensure network QoS is configured for voice traffic.

Making and Managing Calls

Supports basic and advanced telephony features.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press Speakerphone, dial number, press Dial softkey.
  2. Answer a Call: Lift handset, press Speakerphone, or press Answer softkey.
  3. End a Call: Hang up handset or press EndCall softkey.
  4. Hold/Resume: Press Hold softkey during a call.
  5. Transfer: Press Transfer, dial target number, press Transfer again.
  6. Conference: Press Conference, dial participant, press Conference again to join.
  7. Voicemail: Press Messages button or dial voicemail access number.
  8. Call History: Press Directories button to view missed, received, placed calls.

WARNING! Emergency calls (e.g., 911) depend on system configuration. Verify with administrator.

Accessibility Features
