Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable desk surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug an Ethernet cable from the network switch into the phone's SW port.
  2. Connect a Computer (Optional): Plug an Ethernet cable from the phone's PC port to your computer.
  3. Connect Handset: Plug the coiled handset cord into the jack labeled with a handset icon.
  4. Apply Power: The phone will power on via PoE. If not using PoE, connect the external power adapter.

WARNING! Use only the approved power adapter. Ensure cables are routed to avoid tripping hazards.

First-Time Setup

The phone will boot and register with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).

  1. Network Registration: Wait for the phone to obtain an IP address and download its configuration.
  2. Verify Extension: Once registered, your directory number (extension) should appear on the screen.
  3. Set Preferences: Press the Settings button to adjust ringtone, screen contrast, and language.
  4. Test Call: Lift the handset and dial a test number to verify audio quality.

CAUTION! Do not unplug the phone during the boot and firmware upgrade process.

Connecting to Network

  3. For a daisy-chained computer, connect a cable from the PC port to the computer's network port.
  4. The phone will attempt to register automatically upon receiving power.

Tip: The PC port can be disabled by your administrator. Contact IT if you cannot connect a computer.

Making and Receiving Calls

Basic call handling procedures.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset OR press Speakerphone. Dial the number using the keypad.
  2. End a Call: Hang up the handset OR press the Speakerphone button again.
  3. Answer a Call: Lift handset OR press the flashing Line button OR press Speakerphone.
  4. Mute: Press the Mute button during a call to mute your microphone (light turns on).
  5. Hold: Press the Hold softkey to place a call on hold.
  6. Transfer: During a call, press the Transfer softkey, dial the target number, then press Transfer again.
  7. Volume Adjustment: Use the Volume rocker during a call to adjust handset/speaker volume, or when idle to adjust ringer volume.

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on the keypad or navigation buttons.

Accessibility Features

Visual Alert: Flashing line button for incoming calls. Audible Adjustments: Ringer volume and type can be changed in settings. Headset Mode: For hands-free operation, press the Headset button to activate headset mode.

Care & Cleaning
