Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface.

  1. Connect to network: Use Ethernet cable to connect SW port to network switch.
  2. Connect PC (optional): Use Ethernet cable to connect PC port to computer.
  3. Connect power: Plug power adapter into power connector and outlet (if not using PoE).
  4. Connect handset: Plug handset cord into handset port.
  5. Connect headset (optional): Plug headset into headset port.

WARNING! Use only approved power adapter. Ensure network cables are securely connected.

First-Time Setup

Phone will boot and attempt to register with Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

  1. Verify network connectivity: Check Ethernet link lights.
  2. Check registration: On display, verify extension number and "Registered" status.
  3. Set user preferences: Press Settings button to configure ring tone, display contrast, etc.
  4. Program speed dials: Use phone web interface or CUCM User Options page.

CAUTION! Do not place phone in direct sunlight or near heat sources.

Settings Menu: Ring Tone, Display Contrast, Network Configuration, Phone Lock. Call Features: Hold, Transfer, Conference, Forward All, Do Not Disturb. Audio Settings: Speakerphone volume, handset volume, ringer volume, mute.

Connecting Devices

Network: SW port to switch. PC: PC port to computer. Headset: Headset port.

  1. Turn off phone before connecting devices (if using external power).
  2. Match cables to ports (Ethernet to SW/PC, headset to headset port).
  3. Power on phone and verify connections.

Tip: Use quality CAT5e or higher Ethernet cables for best performance.

Making and Managing Calls

Supports basic and advanced call features.

  1. Make call: Lift handset or press Speakerphone, dial number, press Dial softkey or wait.
  2. Answer call: Lift handset, press Speakerphone, or press Answer softkey.
  3. End call: Press EndCall softkey or hang up handset.
  4. Hold: Press Hold softkey to place call on hold; press Resume to retrieve.
  5. Transfer: During call, press Transfer, dial target number, press Transfer again.
  6. Conference: During call, press Conference, dial second party, press Conference again.
  7. Forward All: Press CFwdAll softkey, enter destination number.
  8. Voicemail: Press Messages button or dial voicemail access number.

WARNING! Do not use phone with wet hands. Keep liquids away from phone.

Care & Cleaning
