Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place phone on a stable, flat surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug an Ethernet cable from your network switch into the SW port on the back of the phone.
  2. Connect a Computer (Optional): Plug an Ethernet cable from the PC port on the phone to your computer's network port.
  3. Connect Power: If not using PoE, connect the external power adapter to the power port and plug into an outlet.
  4. Connect Handset: Plug the handset cord into the jack on the side of the phone.

WARNING! Use only the approved power adapter. Ensure cables are securely connected.

First-Time Setup

The phone will boot and attempt to register with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).

  1. Power on: The phone will display startup messages and attempt to obtain an IP address via DHCP.
  2. Registration: If configured, the phone will automatically register with the CUCM server.
  3. Verify Extension: Once registered, your extension number should appear on the display.
  4. Adjust Settings: Use the volume control to set ringer and speaker levels.

CAUTION! Do not unplug the phone during the boot and registration process.

Controls and Settings

Most settings are configured via the web interface or CUCM administration. Front Panel: Handset, Speakerphone, LCD, Keypad, Volume Control, Mute button.

Connecting to Network

Primary connection is via the SW Ethernet port. PC pass-through via the PC port.

  1. Ensure network switch supports PoE or have power adapter ready.
  2. Connect Ethernet cable from switch to phone's SW port.
  3. For a computer, connect cable from phone's PC port to computer's Ethernet port.
  4. Power on the phone. The Ethernet link lights should illuminate.

Tip: Use Category 5e or higher Ethernet cables for best performance.

Basic Call Handling

Making and receiving calls.

  1. Make a Call: Lift handset or press Speakerphone. Dial number using keypad.
  2. Answer a Call: Lift handset, press Speakerphone, or press any key on the keypad.
  3. End a Call: Hang up handset or press Speakerphone button again.
  4. Mute: Press Mute button during a call to mute your microphone. Press again to unmute.
  5. Adjust Volume: Use the volume control on the side during a call (handset/speaker) or when idle (ringer).
  6. Redial: Press the Redial softkey (if configured) or dial the last number manually.

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on the keypad or handset cradle.

Accessibility Features

Visual Alert: Flashing LED for incoming call (if configured). Audio Adjustments: Independent volume control for ringer, handset, and speaker. Hearing Aid Compatible: Handset is hearing aid compatible (HAC).

Care & Cleaning

Unplug the phone from power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. For stubborn marks, dampen cloth with water only. Do not use cleaners or aerosols.

CAUTION! Never spray liquid directly onto the phone. Keep liquids away from the device.
