Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable desk surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Plug Ethernet cable from switch into the LAN port on the phone.
  2. Connect Computer (Optional): Plug Ethernet cable from PC into the PC port on the phone.
  3. Connect Handset: Plug handset cord into the handset jack.
  4. Power the Phone: Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) from switch or connect external power adapter.

WARNING! Use only approved power adapter. Ensure cables are securely connected.

First-Time Setup

Phone will boot and attempt to obtain network configuration.

  1. Network Registration: Phone should automatically register with the call control system (CUCM or other).
  2. Verify Extension: Check display for assigned phone number and status.
  3. Set Language: Press Settings button, navigate to User Preferences > Language.
  4. Adjust Settings: Configure time, date, ringtone, and volume preferences.

CAUTION! Do not unplug during boot process. Contact administrator for network settings.

Controls and Settings

Access menu via Settings button. Front Buttons: Speakerphone, Mute, Hold, Volume, Navigation cluster.

Softkeys: Context-sensitive buttons below display for call functions (Answer, EndCall, Transfer, etc.).

Settings Menu: User Preferences (Language, Ringtone, Screen Contrast), Network Configuration (view IP, subnet), Phone Information (model, firmware). Call Features: Hold, Transfer, Conference, Forward All, Do Not Disturb. Audio: Adjust handset, speaker, and ringer volume independently.

Connecting Devices

Network: LAN port to switch. PC: PC port to computer. Headset: Plug into headset jack.

  1. Turn off devices before connecting cables.
  2. Match Ethernet cables to correct ports (LAN vs PC).
  3. For headset, use compatible RJ-9 or USB adapter if required.

Tip: Use quality CAT5e or CAT6 cables for Gigabit Ethernet performance.

Advanced Call Features

Supports standard and advanced telephony features.

  1. Make Call: Lift handset or press Speakerphone, dial number.
  2. Answer Call: Lift handset, press Speakerphone, or press Answer softkey.
  3. Hold: Press Hold button to place call on hold.
  4. Transfer: During call, press Transfer, dial target number, press Transfer again.
  5. Conference: During call, press Conference, dial second party, press Conference again to merge.
  6. Forward All: Press Forward All softkey, enter destination number.
  7. Call History: Press Applications button to view missed, received, placed calls.
  8. Speed Dial: Assign numbers to programmable buttons via settings.

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on buttons or handset cord.

Accessibility Features

Visual Alert: Flashing LED for incoming call. Hearing Aid Compatible (HAC): Handset is HAC rated. Volume Boost: Adjustable receiver and ringer volume for amplified sound.

Care & Cleaning

Unplug power before cleaning. Use slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Do not use liquids or aerosols directly on phone.
