Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place on stable surface.

  1. Connect to Network: Use an Ethernet cable to connect the SW port to your network switch.
  2. Connect a Computer (Optional): Use an Ethernet cable to connect the PC port to your computer.
  3. Power the Phone: The phone receives power via PoE from the switch. If PoE is unavailable, connect the external power adapter to the Power port.
  4. Connect Handset: Plug the handset cord into the jack on the back of the phone.

WARNING! Use only the provided or Cisco-approved power adapter. Ensure cables are securely connected.

First-Time Setup

Once powered, the phone will boot and attempt to register with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).

  1. Network Registration: The phone should automatically obtain an IP address via DHCP and contact the CUCM server.
  2. Verify Registration: Check the LCD display for your extension number or "Registered" status.
  3. Configure Settings: Use the navigation button to access the Settings menu to set time, date, ringtone, and user preferences.
  4. Test Call: Lift the handset or press the Speaker button and dial a test number to verify audio.

CAUTION! Do not unplug the phone during the boot process. Contact your system administrator for network configuration details.

Using Phone Features

  2. Answer a Call: Lift handset, press SPEAKER, or press the Answer softkey.
  3. Hold: Press Hold button during a call.
  4. Transfer: Press Transfer, dial the target number, announce the call, then press Transfer again.
  5. Conference: Press Conference during a call, dial the second party, then press Conference again to merge.
  6. Call Forward: Access via Settings menu or programmable button (configured by administrator).
  7. Redial: Press Redial softkey or the programmed Redial button.
  8. Volume Adjustment: Use Volume rocker during a call for handset/speaker volume, or when idle for ringer volume.

WARNING! Do not expose the phone to liquids. Use only approved accessories.

Accessibility Features

Care & Cleaning
