Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Ensure proper network infrastructure is in place.

  1. Connect to network: Use Ethernet cable to connect phone to network switch port.
  2. Power the phone: Use PoE from switch or connect AC power adapter.
  3. Connect handset: Plug handset cord into handset port.
  4. Optional connections: Connect headset to headset port, expansion module if used.

WARNING! Use only approved power adapters. Ensure network cables are properly seated.

First-Time Setup

Phone will automatically boot and register with Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM).

  1. Network configuration: Phone obtains IP address via DHCP; verify network connectivity.
  2. Phone registration: Enter extension and authentication credentials if prompted.
  3. Configure preferences: Set language, time zone, ringtone via phone settings menu.
  4. Test functionality: Make test call to verify audio quality and features.

CAUTION! Do not unplug during firmware upgrade. Keep phone in well-ventilated area.

Connecting Devices

  2. Connect headset: Plug into dedicated headset port.
  3. Connect expansion module: Attach to phone's expansion port.
  4. Connect PC: Use PC Ethernet port on phone for daisy-chaining.

Tip: Use certified Cisco headsets for optimal audio quality and compatibility.

Using Advanced Features

Supports advanced calling features and integration.

  1. Conference calls: Press Conference button, dial participants, press Conference again to merge.
  2. Transfer calls: Press Transfer, dial target, press Transfer again to complete.
  3. Call forwarding: Configure via phone menu or web interface.
  4. Speed dial: Program speed dial buttons for quick calling.
  5. BLF presence: Monitor status of colleagues with busy lamp field.
  6. Voicemail: Access via Messages button or dial voicemail number.
  7. Directory: Search corporate directory or personal contacts.
