Unified Communications Manager

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Network cable tester
  • PoE injector or switch
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Ethernet cables (Cat5e or higher)
  • Power adapter (if non-PoE)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location with proper ventilation and network connectivity, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
  2. Unpack and Inspect: Remove all packaging materials and inspect the phone for any physical damage.
  3. Network Connection: Connect the phone to your network using an Ethernet cable. For PoE models, connect to a PoE switch or injector.
  4. Power Connection: If not using PoE, connect the power adapter to the phone and a power outlet.
  5. Handset and Accessories: Connect the handset, and if available, the headset and additional line modules.
  6. Power On: Power on the phone and wait for it to boot and register with the Cisco Unified Communications Manager.
  7. Configuration: Configure network settings and extension numbers as per your organization's VoIP setup.
  8. Test Functionality: Test calling, receiving, and all features to ensure proper operation.
