Unified Communications Manager

Installation Guide

Tools Needed:

  • Network cable tester
  • Screwdrivers (flat and Phillips)
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector or switch
  • Console cable
  • Ethernet cables (Cat5e or higher)

Step-by-Step Installation

  1. Choose Installation Location: Select a location with proper ventilation, power supply, and network connectivity in a secure environment.
  2. Rack Mounting: Install the Cisco Unified Communications Manager server in a standard 19-inch rack using provided mounting hardware.
  3. Network Connection: Connect the server to your network infrastructure using Gigabit Ethernet ports.
  4. Power Connection: Connect to a reliable power source with UPS backup for continuous operation.
  5. Initial Configuration: Access the system via console port for initial setup and configuration.
  6. Phone Registration: Connect Cisco IP phones to PoE ports and allow them to register with the system.
  7. System Testing: Test voice calls, voicemail, and all configured features to ensure proper operation.
