Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place phone on stable, flat surface.

  1. Connect to network: Use Ethernet cable to connect the LAN port to your network switch.
  2. Connect a computer (optional): Use second Ethernet cable from PC port to computer.
  3. Connect handset: Plug coiled handset cord into handset port.
  4. Apply power: Phone will power via PoE from switch, or connect external power adapter.

WARNING! Use only approved power sources. Ensure cables are not pinched or damaged.

First-Time Setup

Phone will boot and attempt to register with the call control system (CUCM/CUCME).

  1. Network registration: Phone obtains IP address via DHCP. Ensure network connectivity.
  2. Firmware load: Phone downloads firmware and configuration from TFTP server.
  3. Extension assignment: Administrator assigns directory number(s) to the phone.
  4. User settings: Adjust ringtone, volume, and display contrast via Settings menu.

CAUTION! Do not unplug phone during firmware upgrade. Contact administrator for configuration.

Access phone settings via the Settings button or web interface (if enabled).

Connecting Devices

Network: LAN port to switch. Computer: PC port to computer NIC. Headset: 3.5mm plug to headset port.

  1. Ensure phone is powered off or disconnected before making connections.
  2. Use standard CAT5e or higher Ethernet cables.
  3. For headset use, plug in before starting a call for proper detection.

Tip: Label cables for easy identification during maintenance.

Using Phone Features

Supports basic and advanced telephony features.

  1. Make a call: Lift handset or press Speakerphone/Headset button, dial number.
  2. Answer a call: Lift handset, press Speakerphone, or press Answer softkey.
  3. Hold: Press Hold button or softkey during a call.
  4. Transfer: Press Transfer, dial target number, announce call, press Transfer again.
  5. Conference: Press Conference, dial first participant, press Conference again, dial second participant.
  6. Forward Calls: Access Call Forward settings via phone menu or web interface.
  7. Voicemail: Press Messages button or dial voicemail access number.
  8. Adjust Volume: Use Volume rocker during a call (handset/speaker) or while idle (ringer).

WARNING! Do not use excessive force on buttons or navigation pad.

Accessibility Features

Hearing Aid Compatibility (HAC): Handset is HAC rated. Visual Alerts: Flashing LED for incoming calls (if configured). Ringer Volume: Adjustable via volume rocker. High-Contrast Display: Adjustable contrast in settings.

Care & Cleaning

Disconnect power before cleaning. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, slightly dampen cloth with water. Do not use cleaners, solvents, or aerosols.

CAUTION! Avoid getting moisture into openings. Do not spray directly on phone.
