Installation

Unpack and inspect contents. Place phone on stable surface near network outlet.

  1. Connect to network: Plug Ethernet cable from switch into SW port on phone.
  2. Connect PC (optional): Plug Ethernet cable from PC port on phone to computer.
  3. Connect handset: Attach coiled handset cord to phone and handset.
  4. Power the phone: Use Power over Ethernet (PoE) or connect external power adapter.

WARNING! Use only approved power sources. Ensure cables are securely connected to avoid damage.

First-Time Setup

Power on phone; it will boot and register with Cisco Unified Communications Manager.

  1. Check registration: Observe LCD for extension number and "Registered" status.
  2. Set language: Use Settings menu to select preferred language (default is English).
  3. Configure ring tone: Navigate to User Preferences > Ring Type to select tone.
  4. Set date and time: Usually synchronized from network; verify in Settings.

Making and Receiving Calls

Basic telephony functions.

  1. Make call: Lift handset or press Speaker, dial number, wait for connection.
  2. Answer call: Lift handset, press Speaker, or press Answer softkey if displayed.
  3. End call: Hang up handset or press Speaker button again.
  4. Hold: Press Hold button during call; resume by pressing Resume.
  5. Transfer: During call, press Transfer, dial target number, press Transfer again.
  6. Conference: During call, press Conference, dial second party, press Conference again to merge.
  7. Redial: Press Redial or dial ** to call last dialed number.
  8. Voicemail: Press Messages button or dial voicemail access number.

WARNING! Do not use phone with wet hands. Keep liquids away from device.

Accessibility Features

Visual Alert: Flashing Message LED for voicemail. Audio Adjustments: Independent volume control for ringer, handset, speaker. Headset Support: Connect compatible headset for hands-free operation.
